Crossplay for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) is not confirmed by the official sources checked on October 2, 2026. Rockstar’s game page and platform support article list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but do not describe play between those platforms. This means the feature is unconfirmed, not ruled out.

What an actual confirmation would say

Crossplay lets players on different platforms join the same session. An announcement would need to identify the supported platforms and the mode where the feature works. Releasing a game on two console families says nothing about whether their users share sessions.

Crossplay is also distinct from cross-progression and cross-buy. Those terms concern account progress and ownership respectively. A platform list cannot establish any of the three.

Does the single-player campaign settle this?

The PlayStation listing describes GTA VI as a single-player experience. That describes the store listing; it does not confirm crossplay for any future mode. Our separate GTA VI Online status guide covers what can currently be verified about online play.

Features of GTA Online in GTA V, generic store icons and leaks cannot establish a feature of GTA VI.

When can this answer change?

An explicit Rockstar multiplayer announcement or support update could establish platforms, modes and restrictions. Until then, players planning to play with friends on another console should treat crossplay as unconfirmed.
